About
Receitas e Tal is a free resource for bullet journal ideas, layouts and practical journaling techniques. The guides are written for people starting with a blank notebook and one pen, and for anyone who wants a clearer, simpler way to plan on paper.
What you will find here
- Beginner guides that cover the foundations in order: first setup, supplies, the index, the key and the future log.
- Weekly and monthly spreads: original layout concepts, from a plain eight-box week to calendar grids, monthly logs and goal pages.
- Trackers and collections for habits, reading, projects, household routines, study planning and travel.
- Decoration and technique: simple doodles, headers, borders and color palettes, plus ruler use, pens and how to fix a page that went wrong.
If you are new, the best place to begin is How to Start a Bullet Journal, followed by the guides to the key and a simple weekly spread. The full list of guides is on the Tutorials page.
How the guides are written
Each guide covers one page, one layout or one skill. Layouts are described by their structure, such as the number of boxes, columns and dot-grid squares, so you can redraw them in a notebook of any size. Measurements are given in inches with metric equivalents, and tools are described by type rather than by brand.
The site treats a journal as a tool for organization, creativity and personal planning. It does not offer medical or psychological advice, and trackers shown here are simple record-keeping layouts.
The illustrations on this site are simplified drawings of blank layouts. Handwriting is shown as plain bars so that the structure of the page stays visible. They are diagrams made for this site, not photographs of real journals, and they are not copies of any other creator’s pages.
The layout concepts published here are our own and are described in plain language. We do not copy other creators’ page designs, and we do not publish invented reviews, ratings or testimonials. Time estimates are approximate. Where a guide refers to background information, it links to the source.
Corrections and suggestions
